About Coral Sea Marina
Coral Sea Marina is a destination-scale marina at Airlie Beach and one of the principal gateways to the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Its 520 wet berths accommodate everything from family cruising boats to superyachts of about 80 metres, backed by two marina villages, resort facilities and a large on-water tourism community. What stands out to us is that the marina can be both a serious provisioning base and part of the holiday itself.
Standard berthing includes 15-amp power and water, with higher-capacity three-phase supply available by request and metered use. Access-controlled amenities, laundry, Wi-Fi, a private gym, guest lounge and the floating Ocean Club give visiting crews comfortable places to reset. Courtesy cars help with local shopping, while concierge support can assist with provisioning, bookings and experiences. The marina also provides 24-hour security coverage through CCTV and after-hours supervision.
Operational capability matches the leisure offer. The marina advertises a 24-hour fuel wharf with high-flow diesel, onsite marine trades and chandlery support, waste and recycling services, and power up to 400 amps for suitable berths. Waterfront restaurants, cafés, a boutique resort and tourism operators fill the shore-side precinct. Airlie Beach is also reachable along the waterfront, putting supermarkets, medical services and additional hospitality within practical range.
Arrival needs preparation despite the polished setting. Berths run from midday to an 11am departure under current guidance, allocations may not be supplied in advance, and VHF channel 09 is monitored during office hours. Comprehensive insurance including A$10 million P&I cover is required, and shore-power leads must carry current test tags. Cyclone-season planning, reef rules, tides and changing tropical weather remain the skipper's responsibility.
Our take is that Coral Sea Marina is strongest for crews who want full-scale support before or after exploring the Whitsundays. Superyachts, charter operators and independent cruisers can all find relevant infrastructure, while non-boating companions have plenty to enjoy ashore. It is a busy commercial and tourism hub, so confirm the booking, insurance and electrical details early. Arrive organised and the marina makes an exceptionally capable launch point for one of Australia's great cruising grounds. The broad range of berth and guest options also helps different crews shape a stay around their own vessel and budget.
Services
Coral Sea Marina offers 520 wet berths for vessels up to approximately 80 metres, with short- and long-term packages. Water and one 15-amp power connection are included with standard berthing; additional single-phase use and metered three-phase power are charged under current arrangements. Access cards open private bathrooms, guest areas and the floating Ocean Club, while laundry, Wi-Fi, gym and lounge facilities support longer stays.
The marina provides a 24-hour fuel wharf with high-flow diesel, security monitoring, after-hours supervision, courtesy cars and concierge assistance. Onsite trades, chandlery, restaurants, cafés, tourism operators and resort facilities create a substantial service precinct. Guest access to selected resort amenities and preferred accommodation arrangements may also be available under current terms.
Vessels must supply current comprehensive insurance including the marina's required P&I cover and complete a berthing agreement. Electrical leads need valid professional test tags and the correct rating. Confirm check-in, berth allocation, fuel-wharf procedure, power demand and after-hours arrival before approaching; monitor VHF 09 when directed. Ask about cyclone procedures, waste, parking and contractor access, and review Great Barrier Reef Marine Park requirements before cruising.
Ideal for
Whitsunday cruisers, charter operators and superyachts seeking a premium full-service base with fuel, trades, resort amenities and concierge support close to Airlie Beach.
What we love

- Direct access to the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef cruising grounds.
- Ocean Club, guest lounge, gym and resort-style shore facilities.
- Twenty-four-hour fuel capability and high-capacity power options.
- A lively precinct combining marine trades, dining and tourism operators.
To keep in mind
