About Hamilton Island Marina
Hamilton Island Marina places a boat at the centre of one of Australia's most celebrated cruising destinations. Its 301 wet berths sit beside the island's restaurants, shops, Yacht Club, airport and resort facilities, with Whitehaven Beach and the wider Whitsundays beyond. We think few marinas match this combination of genuine cruising access and effortless time ashore: a crew can finish a passage, secure the boat and step directly into island life.
The marina welcomes vessels across a wide range of sizes, with current published accommodation extending to superyachts around 45 metres. Every berth has a 15-amp power socket, while 32-, 63- and 125-amp three-phase supplies are available where assigned. Marina concierge staff work on the docks and water, with security patrols and CCTV overnight. Arriving vessels call on VHF channel 68, and a courtesy craft can meet them and guide them to the correct berth.
Shore facilities are unusually comprehensive. Two amenity areas provide 24-hour toilets and showers, with laundries nearby. The marina precinct includes an IGA supermarket, bottle shop, chandlery, post office, ATMs, boutiques, cafés, bars and restaurants. Trolleys assist with luggage, provisions and waste, while resort pools, beaches, activities and selected island facilities are available to marina guests. What stands out to us is how readily a technical stop can become a rewarding holiday stay.
Marine support includes a boatyard, mechanical and electrical services, shipwrights, detailing, polishing and specialist boat-care providers. The travel lift handles vessels up to 62 tonnes, approximately 75 feet long and 5.6 metres in beam, subject to assessment. A 24-hour fuel wharf supplies diesel and unleaded in standard and high-flow formats for vessels up to 30 metres, but all users must contact the marina for clearance before entering. Waste oil and industrial materials require coordinated disposal.
Our take is that Hamilton Island Marina is ideal for Whitsundays cruisers who want polished service, strong provisioning and direct access to island experiences. Book at least 24 hours ahead, provide registration and insurance, and check in by radio before arrival. Restaurant, activity and buggy bookings can fill quickly, so organise them early too. Once the practical details are settled, this marina makes it remarkably easy to enjoy both the boat and the destination around it.
Services
Hamilton Island Marina provides 301 wet berths and published superyacht accommodation to approximately 45 metres. Each berth has a 15-amp shore-power outlet, with larger three-phase supplies available on designated berths and charged according to use. On-water concierge staff assist arrivals, and security patrols plus CCTV support the open-arm marina overnight. Call VHF channel 68 for clearance and guidance to the assigned berth.
The 24-hour fuel wharf supplies diesel and unleaded in low- and high-flow formats to vessels up to 30 metres, with card payment at the dock. Contact the office before entering because the berth may be occupied. The boatyard offers hardstand and a travel lift for vessels up to 62 tonnes, 75 feet and 5.6 metres beam, alongside mechanical, electrical, shipwright, detailing and professional boat-care services.
Two amenity areas provide toilets, showers and paid laundry facilities. Provisioning, chandlery, gas refills, trolleys, waste and recycling, post-office services, shopping and dining are available in the precinct. Industrial waste and contaminated fluids must be logged with the office. All arrivals, including fuel-only visits, need prior contact, vessel registration and current insurance. Book at least 24 hours ahead and observe the four-knot no-wash limit.
