About Keppel Bay Marina
Keppel Bay Marina is a major cruising base at Rosslyn Bay, where the Capricorn Coast meets the island-studded waters around Great Keppel Island. More than 500 berths, a full boatyard and welcoming shoreside facilities make it equally useful for an overnight pause, an extended refit or a seasonal home port. We think its personality is part of the appeal: this is a substantial marina that still presents itself as friendly, practical and closely connected to the local boating community.
Short- and long-term berths accommodate vessels up to 35 metres, with advance bookings essential. Every berth has water and a 15-amp power connection, while 32-amp supply is available by request and may attract an additional charge. Wide channels and coloured pile caps help crews find their allocated position, and the marina's orientation and surrounding protection support manageable berthing across a range of conditions. Exact dimensions, multihull fit and power requirements should be discussed when booking.
The boatyard provides travel-lift haul-out, qualified shipwright services, antifouling, fibreglass work, insurance inspections and repairs, general maintenance and hardstand storage. Pollution-producing work is not permitted at marina berths, and only authorised, inducted and insured tradespeople may service vessels on site. What stands out to us is the clarity of that arrangement: owners gain a capable repair base while the marina protects the water and keeps noisier jobs in an appropriate working area.
Shore life is comfortable. Ensuite showers, accessible bathrooms, laundries, waste and recycling stations, patron parking and bookable secure parking support longer stays. The office opens daily and can help arrange a courtesy car or airport transfer. A chandlery, brokerage and waterfront restaurant sit within the precinct, while unleaded and diesel are available at the nearby Fisherman's Market fuel wharf during published hours; gas-bottle refills can be arranged through the marina office.
Our take is that Keppel Bay Marina is one of Queensland's strongest all-in-one cruising stops, particularly for crews preparing to explore the Keppel group or continuing along the coast. It offers the infrastructure larger boats need without losing easy access to dining and island adventures. Reserve well ahead, confirm fuel timing and boatyard bookings, and arrive with the assigned berth and VHF procedure clear. With that preparation, Rosslyn Bay becomes both a dependable service hub and a memorable destination.
Services
Keppel Bay Marina offers more than 500 short- and long-term berths for vessels up to 35 metres. All berths have water and one 15-amp power connection; 32-amp supply is available by arrangement and additional fees may apply. Advance booking is essential. Provide length, beam, draft, vessel type and electrical needs so the team can allocate a suitable berth.
The adjoining boatyard provides travel-lift services, hardstand storage, general repairs, shipwright work, antifouling, fibreglass repair and insurance inspections. Maintenance that risks noise or pollution must not be performed in a marina berth. Only authorised and inducted tradespeople may work on site, so contact the boatyard before engaging an outside contractor or beginning a project.
Facilities include ensuite and accessible showers, laundries, waste and recycling points, patron parking, optional secure parking, chandlery, brokerage and waterfront dining. A courtesy car and airport transfers can be arranged through the office. The nearby fuel wharf sells diesel and unleaded during published hours, with additional diesel by prior arrangement elsewhere in Rosslyn Bay. Gas-bottle refills are available through the office. Confirm opening times before a time-critical departure.
Ideal for
Capricorn Coast cruisers, larger yachts, multihulls and owners needing a well-equipped marina, boatyard and comfortable base near the Keppel Islands.
What we love
- More than 500 sheltered marina berths
- Vessel accommodation up to 35 metres
- A capable on-site boatyard and hardstand
- Comfortable showers, laundry and concierge support
- Great Keppel Island on the doorstep
To keep in mind
Advance bookings are essential, especially during cruising season and events. Confirm berth dimensions, electrical needs and fuel-wharf hours before arrival, and schedule boatyard work separately. Repairs with pollution or noise risk belong in the yard, and external trades must meet the marina's authorisation requirements.
