About Killcare Marina

Killcare Marina has operated on Hardys Bay since 1962, occupying a calm pocket of Brisbane Water just inside Broken Bay. The setting combines protected water with the easy charm of Killcare's cafés, restaurants, boutique shops and local provisions. We think that village relationship is central to the experience: this is a working full-service marina where boat maintenance can sit comfortably beside a relaxed Central Coast weekend.

The marina provides 29 berths and 12 swing moorings for vessels from six to 15 metres, with both permanent and casual arrangements. Its floating wharf has an extra-wide walkway, and every berth receives water and individually metered electricity. Heavy-duty swing moorings are positioned in Hardys Bay and Riley's Bay, with dinghy storage available at a dedicated pontoon. Casual visitors are welcomed, but bookings are essential and should be made early at busy times.

Killcare's distinctive lifting system is an air dock designed for multihulls and other wide vessels, accepting beams up to 9.5 metres. Services include lifting, cleaning, antifouling, Propspeed, anode replacement, engine and drive work, electrical support, shipwright repairs, polishing and insurance jobs. What stands out to us is the specialist width capability: catamaran owners can combine a maintenance visit with cruising in Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury rather than travelling into Sydney for every haul-out.

Owners can also arrange marine surveys, scheduled boat care, battery servicing, oil-waste removal, fire-extinguisher servicing and vessel preparation before a day out. Sewage pump-out is offered free of charge. Fuel can be organised as part of the boat-care service, but the site does not present a conventional self-service fuel wharf, so timing and product requirements should be discussed directly with the team.

Our take is that Killcare Marina is a particularly strong choice for multihulls, hands-on owners and coastal cruisers who want skilled maintenance in a beautiful village setting. It remains small enough to feel personal while covering an unusually broad service list. Send complete vessel dimensions before booking, reserve casual berthing and lifting well ahead, and clarify the approach or pickup arrangements for a swing mooring. With that preparation, Killcare makes servicing the boat feel like part of the cruise rather than an interruption to it.

Services

Killcare Marina offers 29 floating-wharf berths and 12 heavy-duty swing moorings for vessels from six to 15 metres. Permanent and casual options are available by booking. Berths have water and individually metered shore power, while a wide walkway supports boarding and loading. Dinghy storage is provided at a dedicated pontoon for mooring users.

The wide-vessel air dock accepts beams up to 9.5 metres. The service team handles lifting, hull cleaning, antifouling, Propspeed, anodes, mechanical and drive-system work, electrical repairs, shipwright services, polishing, detailing and insurance repairs. Marine surveys and inspections can also be arranged. Confirm vessel weight, beam, underwater configuration and work scope before reserving the lift.

A free sewage pump-out is available, alongside scheduled boat-care services such as battery attention, oil-waste removal, fire-extinguisher servicing, cleaning and pre-departure preparation. Fuel filling can be arranged rather than assumed as an unattended dock service. Casual berths and visitor moorings are often available, but bookings are essential. Ask about tender access, parking, after-hours arrangements and current office or yard hours when confirming the stay.

Ideal for

Central Coast cruisers, multihull owners and boaters wanting personal service, protected berthing and wide-vessel maintenance close to Broken Bay.

What we love

  • A calm Hardys Bay village setting
  • Berths and swing moorings for visitors
  • A lift for vessels up to 9.5 metres wide
  • Comprehensive mechanical and shipwright support
  • Free sewage pump-out for marina users

To keep in mind

Bookings are essential for casual berths, moorings and lifting, particularly during busy cruising periods. Provide complete vessel dimensions and project details before arrival. Fuel is arranged through the team rather than promoted as a standard self-service wharf, and swing-mooring users should confirm dinghy and access procedures.
