About Port Gregory Maritime Facility
Port Gregory Maritime Facility is a small government service jetty on Western Australia's Mid West coast, 47 kilometres north-west of Northampton. The settlement is backed by the colourful Hutt Lagoon region and faces open water moderated by a long exposed coral reef, with fishing and diving central to local life. We think the place has an unmistakably remote appeal, but this is working infrastructure rather than a conventional marina with bookable pens and extensive visitor amenities.
The timber jetty was designed for recreational and commercial vessels and provides single- and three-phase power, lighting and non-potable water. Published load limits apply to vessels, vehicles, deck loading and crane use, so every working visit requires appropriate planning and compliance. Ordinarily, regional service jetties may support short-term landing, loading or approved casual accommodation. Port Gregory must not presently be treated that way, however, because the managing authority reports that the facility is inaccessible to vessels.
Siltation and reduced water depth are the decisive current constraints. Until Transport WA formally confirms restored access, skippers should not attempt to approach or berth at the jetty. The reef may create a degree of anchorage protection, but it does not remove exposure, depth uncertainty or the need for current local knowledge. What stands out to us is the need to separate the destination's scenic promise from the facility's actual operational status; safe access always takes priority.
Public toilets are located north-east of the car park. Fuel, potable water, sewage pump-out, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, security, lifting, hardstand and repair services are not verified at the maritime facility. The database's older service summary mentioned toilets and showers, but the current government page confirms public toilets only, so showers should not be assumed. Crews visiting the district by road can still enjoy the village and coast while arranging all boat servicing, fuel and accommodation elsewhere.
Our take is that Port Gregory remains a distinctive boating location to keep on a future itinerary, particularly for experienced Mid West anglers and small commercial operators, but it is not currently a usable marina stop. Check the official facility page, notices to mariners, depths, weather and waves before every plan, and speak directly with the regional office. Until a reopening is confirmed, choose another lawful harbour or ramp and enjoy Port Gregory from shore rather than taking avoidable risks on the approach.
Services
Port Gregory Maritime Facility centres on a timber service jetty designed for commercial and recreational use. It has single- and three-phase electricity, lighting and non-potable water, with published limits for berth impact, deck stacking, crane weight and vehicle loading. Any permitted use would require direct confirmation, current facility conditions and compliance with Transport WA service-jetty rules and fees.
The facility is currently inaccessible to vessels because of siltation and reduced water depths. Do not approach, berth, load or plan overnight accommodation until the managing authority explicitly confirms restored access. Check the official page and current notices rather than relying on older cruising information. The coral reef provides some local protection but does not make an obstructed approach safe.
Public toilets are located near the car park. Fuel, potable vessel water, pump-out, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, secure berthing, lifting, hardstand and repairs are not verified. Arrange provisioning and all technical services elsewhere. Contact the Mid West office before planning any future visit and use current tide, wave, weather and navigation information. While closure remains in force, select another lawful launch or harbour.
Ideal for
A future stop for experienced Mid West fishing and commercial crews once the authority confirms that vessel access has safely reopened.

- A timber jetty with working-vessel utilities
- The coral reef's distinctive local character
- Fishing and diving woven into village life
- Hutt Lagoon and Northampton within the region
To keep in mind
The facility is currently inaccessible to vessels because of siltation and reduced depths. Do not attempt an approach until Transport WA confirms reopening. Public toilets are available ashore, but fuel, potable water, showers, pump-out and marina services are not verified.
