About The Boat Works
The Boat Works at Coomera is one of Australia's most comprehensive marine refit and service precincts, combining marina berths, hardstand, covered work areas and a remarkable concentration of specialist trades. This is a destination built for doing serious work well, from routine maintenance to complex superyacht projects. We think its defining strength is integration: owners and captains can move from berth to lift, shed, contractor and relaunch without piecing together a fragmented network across the Gold Coast.
The governed YouSail record lists 365 berths across the precinct, while current operator material promotes short-term, service and superyacht berthing rather than one simple public inventory. The superyacht basin accepts alongside and stern-to arrangements for vessels up to 100 metres, subject to dimensions and allocation. Power and water are available at berths, including single and three-phase connections. Provide complete specifications, work scope, arrival dates and utility loads so the team can coordinate the right area.
Haul-out capacity is exceptional. Six machines serve different vessel types, led by a 300-tonne marine travel lift, and covered hardstand or in-water sheds support weather-protected projects. The two 100-metre covered service berths allow trades to work afloat, while crane, provisioning, refuelling and bunkering docks handle operational tasks. What stands out to us is the flexibility: a cruising catamaran, production powerboat or major yacht refit can each be routed through facilities suited to its scale.
The shoreside offer includes fuel bunkering, pump-out, chandlery and boating-supply stores, waste and recycling, free parking and broad access to qualified marine trades. Owners and crews can use lounges, ensuites, laundry, barbecues, courtesy vehicles and waterfront food venues. Security, surveillance and an onsite caretaker provide support beyond ordinary office interaction. Contractor access is managed, so confirm insurance, induction and work-area requirements before bringing an external team onsite.
Our take is that The Boat Works is ideal for owners who want a planned technical stop rather than improvised repairs. The Coomera River approach and individual berths have dimensional and depth constraints; the governed record notes about 2.5 metres minimum berth depth, but actual suitability must be checked for the vessel and route. Confirm tide, air draft, beam, lift configuration and current navigation information before arrival. With a clear project brief, this precinct can turn a demanding maintenance period into an unusually organised experience.
Services
The Boat Works combines marina and service berths, hardstand, covered work areas and a major superyacht basin. Vessels up to 100 metres can be considered for alongside or stern-to berthing, with power and water supplied in multiple capacities. The governed record lists 365 berths across the precinct, but allocation depends on vessel dimensions, work scope, dates and utility requirements.
Six haul-out machines include a 300-tonne travel lift. Covered hardstand sheds and two 100-metre in-water work berths support protected maintenance and refit activity. Dedicated crane, provisioning and fuel-bunkering docks add logistical depth. Qualified onsite trades span mechanical, electrical, shipwright, fabrication, coatings, detailing and related specialties, supported by chandlery and boating-supply stores.
Fuel bunkering, pump-out, waste and recycling, parking, security and an onsite caretaker are available. Crew amenities include lounges, ensuites, laundry, barbecues, courtesy vehicles and waterfront dining. External contractors need the required insurance and induction. Confirm actual berth depth, river approach, tide, beam, air draft and lift configuration before movement; the governed reference to approximately 2.5 metres must not replace vessel-specific advice from the yard.
Ideal for
