About Tin Can Bay Marina (d'Albora)
d'Albora Tin Can Bay Marina is a full-service base on the sheltered waters of Snapper Creek, close to the Great Sandy Strait and the town of Tin Can Bay. Its 172 wet berths support local owners, coastal visitors, monohulls and multihulls, while fuel, a working boatyard, chandlery, dining and accommodation turn the site into much more than a place to tie up. We think it is one of the Fraser Coast's strongest all-round stops for crews who want both practical support and a relaxed waterfront stay.
Berth lengths run from nine metres to more than 20 metres, with short-term and long-term arrangements available. The marina asks visiting boats to provide length, beam, draft and preferred dates so staff can confirm a suitable position. That is particularly important for catamarans and other wide vessels. Member and guest services operate seven days a week, and dock staff can assist with arrivals, departures and refuelling during published hours.
The fuel jetty operates 24 hours a day, with staff assistance available during marina hours. The full-service boatyard has hardstand space and a travel lift; current d'Albora pages variously label it 27 or 30 tonnes, so owners near the limit should obtain written confirmation of capacity and sling suitability. Antifouling, servicing, mechanical and electrical work, repairs, refits, detailing and shipwright support can be arranged through onsite businesses. What stands out to us is the depth of service at a comparatively laid-back coastal marina.
A well-stocked chandlery sells electronics, lighting, bait, ice, fishing tackle and everyday boating supplies. Marina Grill provides dockside dining, while ten two-bedroom waterfront villas offer an easy option for crews or families during maintenance. Tin Can Bay's shops and essential services are within walking distance or accessible through current marina transport arrangements. Pump-out, berth-side utilities, dedicated marina showers, laundry and Wi-Fi should be confirmed for the specific stay rather than inferred from villa amenities.
Our take is that Tin Can Bay Marina suits coastal cruisers, multihulls, anglers and owners scheduling maintenance before exploring the Great Sandy Strait. The waterways toward K'gari are beautiful but require respect for shoals, tides, marine-park zones and rapidly changing conditions. Wide Bay Bar is a separate high-consequence offshore entrance and should never be treated casually. Use current charts, Maritime Safety Queensland guidance, weather and local knowledge, and confirm berth, fuel and yard bookings before committing to the approach.
Services
Tin Can Bay Marina provides 172 wet berths for monohulls and multihulls, with lengths from nine metres to more than 20 metres and both short- and long-term stays. Supply overall length, beam, draft, insurance and dates so staff can allocate a suitable position. Dock assistance is available seven days a week during member and guest service hours.
Fuel is available from the jetty 24 hours a day. The boatyard includes hardstand and a travel lift described across current d'Albora pages as 27 or 30 tonnes; confirm the operative capacity and sling configuration before booking. Onsite contractors cover antifouling, mechanical and electrical work, servicing, repairs, refits, detailing and shipwright tasks.
The chandlery stocks marine electronics, lighting, bait, ice, tackle and supplies. Dockside dining, ten waterfront villas and nearby town services make longer projects easier. Pump-out, berth-side utilities, dedicated marina showers, laundry and Wi-Fi are not clearly confirmed for every booking, so ask directly. Plan Great Sandy Strait passages around charted shoals, tides and marine-park zones, and treat any Wide Bay Bar transit as a separate decision using current official guidance.
