About Ulladulla Harbour
Ulladulla Harbour is a compact regional harbour on the NSW South Coast where commercial fishing, recreational boating and the town's waterfront life meet. It is not a single privately operated marina; Transport for NSW manages the harbour context, with berths, moorings, working wharves and public ramps distributed around the basin. We think its appeal comes from that authenticity: visiting crews arrive in a genuine fishing port with restaurants, shops, parkland and central Ulladulla immediately ashore.
The South Coast Boating Network Plan records 20 leased berths around the T-Jetty, Stonewall Wharf and Tuna Wharf, plus roughly 30 to 40 private and commercial swing moorings in the northern harbour. One courtesy mooring is identified for stays of up to 24 hours, while temporary berthing may be arranged through the Ulladulla Fishermen's Co-op. These are governed local arrangements, not a promise of space. Call ahead with complete vessel details and obtain current instructions before entering or tying up.
Two formal two-lane boat ramps and pontoon access support trailer boats, though parking is limited. The southern ramp and central access pontoon are undergoing a replacement programme in 2026 because the old ramp was deteriorated and difficult at low tide. Construction timing and closures should be checked immediately before travel. Three commercial wharves support harbour operations, and Stonewall Wharf sits beside a slipway. What stands out to us is the amount of boating activity contained in a small, walkable waterfront precinct.
Services vary by operator and location. A slipway and diesel-fuel context appear in state infrastructure planning, but public visitor access, booking terms and operating hours must be confirmed directly. Power, potable water, pump-out, dedicated visiting-crew bathrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, security and chandlery are not verified as harbour-wide inclusions. The nearby town makes food and general provisioning easy, but self-contained crews should organise vessel-specific needs before arrival.
Our take is that Ulladulla suits capable South Coast cruisers, fishing boats and trailer crews who value a working harbour and immediate town access. The entrance opens directly to the Tasman Sea and deserves conservative planning in swell, wind and reduced visibility. Check current NSW charts, weather, marine notices and local advice, keep clear of commercial vessels and fishing operations, and maintain low wash inside. Confirm courtesy-mooring or temporary-berth availability and any ramp works before committing to the passage.

Two formal two-lane ramps and pontoon access serve trailer boats, with limited parking. The southern ramp and central pontoon are in a 2026 replacement programme, so check current construction closures and launching conditions. The T-Jetty, Stonewall Wharf and Tuna Wharf serve commercial activity, and a slipway is located beside Stonewall Wharf.
State planning records a diesel-fuel and vessel-maintenance context, but public access, hours and limits require direct verification. Harbour-wide power, water, pump-out, crew bathrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, security and chandlery are not established visitor inclusions. Town services are close by for visitors. Check berth or mooring permission, ramp works, weather, swell and marine notices, then enter slowly and keep clear of the working fleet.
Ideal for
Self-sufficient South Coast cruisers, fishing vessels and trailer-boat crews seeking a compact working harbour with Ulladulla's town services immediately nearby.
What we love
- A genuine South Coast working-harbour atmosphere
- A courtesy mooring for short stays by availability
- Temporary berthing pathways through the local co-op
- Two public launching areas with pontoon access
- Restaurants, shops and parkland close ashore
To keep in mind
Berths and moorings are controlled through different local arrangements, and the southern ramp replacement may affect access during 2026. Confirm space, services and construction status, then assess the exposed entrance using current weather and official navigation information.
