About Yamba Marina
Yamba Marina sits inside the Clarence River at Marina Bay, creating a full-service stop for local owners, river explorers and coastal crews moving along northern New South Wales. The marina combines substantial berthing with fuel, haul-out, workshops and useful shoreside facilities, while Yamba's dining, beaches and town services are close at hand. We think the balance is excellent: a crew can address serious boat needs without losing the relaxed character that makes a Clarence River stay memorable.
The operator's current environmental plan records 94 floating berths and 21 swing moorings. Published rates cover daily through longer-term stays, including berths for boats from around 10 metres to 20 metres and above by arrangement. Management assigns every position and requires current comprehensive insurance and registration. Submit length overall, beam, draft, dates and occupancy details in advance, then wait for the confirmed berth or mooring location before arrival.
Berths have power and water, while the site includes two amenities blocks, a laundry, landscaped areas and parking for 132 vehicles. A marina tender operates for guests during normal hours. The dedicated fuel wharf supplies premium unleaded and diesel, handles vessels up to 40 metres and can sometimes serve after hours with notice. What stands out to us is how well the marina supports both a short passage stop and a longer period of Clarence River cruising.
A 35-tonne travel lift serves monohulls, moving boats to the hardstand for maintenance, repair or secure storage. Owners may work on their vessels under strict safety and environmental rules, or arrange help through the marina and its commercial workshops. Work berths, open and undercover dry storage, trailer storage and mast storage are also advertised. Confirm lift geometry, contractor induction, work scope and timing before committing, and remember that repairs are not permitted while a boat remains in the floating marina.
Our take is that Yamba Marina suits east-coast cruisers, Clarence River boaters and owners who want berthing and genuine service capability together. The ocean approach crosses the Yamba bar, where changing swell, tide and river flow demand conservative judgment and current official guidance. Contact the marina on VHF 16 or by phone, monitor local conditions and do not depart or enter merely because the river inside looks calm. Once safely within the Clarence, the marina becomes a welcoming, capable base for enjoying Yamba and exploring upstream.
