Vessel-specific guide
Motor yacht marina and berth requirements
Motor-yacht suitability depends on the whole operating system around the berth. Reliable fuel access, suitable power, mechanical support and safe manoeuvring room can matter more over a season than restaurants or waterfront presentation.
Motor yachts berth dimensions and facility requirements
Fuel and manoeuvring
Confirm fuel type, opening hours, berth-side or dedicated fuel-dock access, turning space and any restrictions during high-traffic periods.
Electrical supply
Match plug type, phase, amperage and metering to the vessel. Ask whether power remains available during maintenance or temporary relocation.
Mechanical support
Verify the contractors permitted on site, engine and generator expertise, parts access, lift capacity and hardstand arrangements.
Waste and security
Ask about pump-out, waste handling, after-hours access, CCTV coverage and the response process for alarms, leaks or shore-power faults.
Questions to send with an enquiry
- Can the fuel dock accommodate our LOA and draft in the expected conditions?
- What shore-power connection and capacity are provided?
- Which mechanical contractors can work on site?
- How are after-hours vessel problems handled?
Decision rule
Get the controlling dimensions and service limits in writing. A ranking helps compare quality after a marina can safely accommodate the vessel; it cannot make an unsuitable berth fit.
