Vessel-specific guide
Superyacht berth and marina requirements
A superyacht berth is a capability claim, not simply a long stretch of dock. The marina must be able to receive the vessel through the approach, support its draft and services, manage bunkering and contractors, and coordinate security and shoreside access.
Superyachts berth dimensions and facility requirements
Published vessel envelope
Confirm maximum LOA, beam, displacement and draft in writing, including the controlling depth and any tidal or manoeuvring restrictions.
Utilities and bunkering
Verify shore-power specification, potable water delivery, fuel grades, pumping rates, waste reception and booking lead times.
Operational support
Ask who coordinates pilots, tugs where relevant, contractors, provisioning, crew transport and emergency maintenance.
Security and privacy
Understand dock access, visitor management, vehicle loading, CCTV, crew access and how the marina handles public-facing areas.
Questions to send with an enquiry
- Which berth is proposed and what vessel envelope has been confirmed for it?
- What are the approach and departure constraints?
- Which utilities can operate simultaneously?
- Who is the operational contact before and during arrival?
Decision rule
Get the controlling dimensions and service limits in writing. A ranking helps compare quality after a marina can safely accommodate the vessel; it cannot make an unsuitable berth fit.
